Delicate and bold. Unconventional and versatile.
Illuminating a majestic architecture
The Camlica mosque in Istanbul is the largest and most impressive mosque in Turkey: the project was born out of the Turkish government's need to testify to the country's economic size. The internal spaces respond to numerous needs: the structure includes a place dedicated to worship and prayer as well as an art gallery, a library, a conference room, an art studio and the Museum of Islamic Civilization.
Platek products that have been included in this project were chosen to enhance architecture and cultural heritage. Medio up-lighter in particular has been used to illuminate the base of the columns and the internal portico, characterized by slightly acute vaults. Thanks to the product's ability to illuminate important surfaces in width and height, Medio has also been used to illuminate the external pilasters at the base.
On the other hand, Target floodlight proved to be ideal for illuminating the niches that decorate the corridors and, demonstrating its the extreme versatility, for illuminating the external domes. For the internal domes the Strip product was used, which is able to make the most of shapes and volumes.
