The light which enhances a treasure of the past.

“The Cedars of God”, this is the name given to one of the vestiges of the extensive cedar forest of Lebanon which were once a source of wood for the most important populations of ancient history such as Phoenicians, Israelites, Egyptians, Assyrians, Babylonians and Persians, Romans and Turks. It is a strictly protected forest, a destination for tourists and passionate researchers, characterised by centuries-old trees over 20 meters high. After a reforestation started by “Committee of Friends of the Cedar Forest” in 1988 the Cedars of God were added to the UNESCO list of world culture heritage sites. The Studio light design Highlights, in collaboration with the distributor Ariss lumière Group, involved Platek in the project to enhance the forest. In particular, the area in which the project has focused its attention are the slopes of Mount Makmel that tower over the valley of Kadisha, where there are, among others, four secular Cedars which have reached a height of 35 meters. Platek with its Spring floodlight line has proven to be capable of lighting the branches of old trees and directly emphasizing the trunk grandeur. The selection of products that were of low energy impact but at the same time guaranteed an efficient light output was important for the success of the project
